Repashy Pumpkin Pie is a winter seasonal complete diet for omnivorous reptiles, featuring dehydrated ripe pumpkin. It can also be offered as a treat to herbivorous species. The formula can be prepared as a gel, paste, or smoothie, giving keepers several ways to present the same seasonal food depending on the animal and feeding setup.
For a smoothie or paste, mix Repashy Pumpkin Pie with water until you reach the desired consistency. For gel, combine one part powder with 1.5-2 parts boiling water, stir immediately, then cool or pour into a mold. The gel sets at room temperature and can be cut into pieces or strips. Once prepared, treat it as fresh food and store it sealed in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Offer ad libitum. Refrigeration will also extend the freshness of the dry product.
Directions
To make Smoothie or Paste, mix with water to desired consistency and serve. For gel, bring water to boil in kettle, on stove or in microwave. Pour water into a bowl and immediately stir in powder (1 part powder to 1.5-2 parts water by volume). Let cool or pour into a mold. Gel sets at room temperature. Cut into pieces or strips for feeding. Once made, gel should be treated as fresh food and can be sealed and stored in refrigerator for up to two weeks. Offer ad libitum.
