- For terrariums and aquariums
- Small: about 8–12″
- Every piece is unique
Lugarti spider wood is sustainably harvested from azalea gardens in China. Lugarti pressure washes each piece and then heat-treats it to eliminate any pests. Its thin, spreading limbs give it its spider-like shape.
As a result, the many fine branches create climbing routes and cover in a small space. They also look good with moss and live plants in planted terrariums and paludariums. The small size is about 8 to 12 inches. Because it is natural, every piece differs in size, color and shape.
Note
Being a natural product, these will naturally vary in size, color and shape.
Keeper notes
Spider wood often floats at first. So if you use Lugarti spider wood in a paludarium water feature, soak it or weigh it down until it sinks. Like many woods, it can also release tannins that tint water the color of tea. A soak and rinse reduces this. In a terrarium, wedge it firmly between the floor and the walls. Then use the fine limbs for frogs, small geckos and moss, rather than as a perch for heavy animals. In addition, its shape makes a natural frame for mounting moss and small epiphytes.
