These Pro-Kal 32 oz fruit fly deli cups are clear polypropylene containers, the standard size for fruit fly cultures, and also great for silkworm pods, hornworm pods and bean beetle cultures.
Polypropylene handles the hot water used to mix culture media, and the clear walls let you see how a culture is producing at a glance. Pair them with vented fabric lids so the culture can breathe while the flies stay in.

Keeper notes
To start a culture, mix the media in the cup, let it cool and set, add excelsior and then the flies, and close the cup with a vented lid. Label your 32 oz fruit fly deli cups with the start date, because cultures peak a few weeks after starting and then decline. Keep them at room temperature away from direct sun. Wash and dry cups well before reusing them, or use fresh cups to reduce the risk of mites and mold.
