Repashy Morning Wood is a super-firm, long-lasting formula for isopods, springtails, and other detritus-feeding insects. It can be fed as a dry powder, prepared as a gel, or converted into jerky for a slower-release option. That flexibility makes it easy to match the food format to the way you maintain a colony or enclosure.
For gel, prepare Repashy Morning Wood with one part powder to 2-3 parts boiling water, stir immediately, then cool or pour into a mold. Prepared gel can be refrigerated for up to two weeks or frozen for up to six months. For jerky, prepare the gel first, cut it into ¼-inch slices, then dry completely at 150 °F (65 °C), typically for 8-12 hours. Offer ad libitum. Refrigeration will extend the freshness of the dry product.
Directions
Can be fed as a Powder, Gel, or Jerky. Bring water to a boil on stove, in microwave or kettle. Pour boiling water into a bowl and immediately stir in powder (1 part powder to 2-3 parts water). Let cool or immediately pour into mold. Gel will set at room temperature. Cut into pieces or make into a slow release Jerky. Once made, gel should be treated as fresh food and can be sealed and stored in refrigerator for up to two weeks, or freezer for up to six months. JERKY: Prepare gel as above, pour into deep container, and then cut gel into ¼ inch thick slices of desired size. Completely dry in Oven or Dehydrator at 150 °F (65 °C). (8-12 hours typical). Offer ad libitum.
