Repashy SuperCal HyD is a micro-fine calcium supplement for reptiles and amphibians with high levels of vitamin D. It is intended for species with high vitamin D requirements that receive little UVB radiation from natural or artificial sunlight. The calcium carbonate is sourced from the Mohave Desert in California and micro-ground to an average particle size of 3.5 microns. Calcium is listed at a minimum of 30%, with vitamin D at 50,000 IU/lb.
For feeder insects, Repashy SuperCal HyD is applied by lightly dusting them before feeding. For fresh fruit and vegetables, use 1 heaping teaspoon per pound. The fine calcium carbonate is designed to adhere well to insects, making it straightforward to work into insect-feeding routines. Refrigeration will extend freshness. This is the high-vitamin-D option in the SuperCal range, intended for the UVB and vitamin D conditions described above.
Directions
Dust insects by placing in a plastic bag and shaking lightly to coat insects with powder before feeding to animals. For supplementing fresh fruit and vegetables, use 1 heaping Teaspoon per Pound.
Information
Our Calcium Carbonate is mined from the Mohave Desert in California, where it was deposited 300 million years ago during the Mississippian Age as a large graveyard of marine animals. Our calcium is micro ground to an average size of 3.5 microns, and provides the ultimate “stick” when dusted onto insects.
