Rep-Cal calcium with vitamin D3 is an ultrafine, phosphorus-free calcium carbonate made from 100% natural oyster shell. In addition, it has vitamin D3 added to aid the absorption of calcium. The fine grind also clings well to crickets, roaches and worms.
Rep-Cal designed it to be used together with Herptivite, its multivitamin. For example, mix the two 1:1 for dusting, or add them to fruit, vegetables and pastes. The D3 version is the right choice for animals that get little or no UVB. However, for animals under strong UVB, consider the version without D3.
Dosage
For best results, mix Rep-Cal with Herptivite multivitamin supplement. Mix with vegetables, fruits, and pastes approximately 1/2 tablespoon Rep-Cal with 1/2 tablespoon Herptivite per pound of food.
Before feeding insects: 1. Thoroughly mix a 1:1 ratio of Rep-Cal and Herptivite in a plastic bag. 2. Place insects in the bag. 3. Shake slowly until they are completely covered.

Keeper notes
Dust only what your animal eats within a few minutes, because the powder falls off as insects move. Also do not stack Rep-Cal calcium with vitamin D3 on top of another D3 source. For example, your animal may also get D3 from a multivitamin or a complete powdered diet. In that case, check the total before adding more. Finally, keep the jar tightly closed in a cool, dry place, and replace powder that has caked from moisture.
